Mazie and Scott Bridals | Utah Wedding Photographers

Mazie and Scott knew they wouldn’t have a lot of time on their wedding day for pictures so they opted to do their bridal session at the Salt Lake Temple, where they were married.  It was so fun to shoot there without all of the crowds and in the evening when the light is perfect! Mazie had her dress custom made and isn’t it gorgeous?!?  I am so impressed by some people’s talent. Scott got his suit from Jos.A. Bank and Mazie’s flowers were done by her aunt!  It was such a perfect fall day for a bridal session!

Taylor and Kory Wedding | Utah Wedding Photographers

Taylor and Kory got married on a beautiful warm October day at The Atrium in Sandy.  Taylor looked gorgeous in her dress from Fantasy Bridal.  Seriously, I have never seen a dress from there that wasn’t amazing! And Kory got his Tux from Tuxedo’s by Lee.  They had a fall themed outdoor ceremony and Taylor and Kory’s cute parents danced down the aisle after the ceremony!  I loved how fun and upbeat their families were!  There was a luncheon in between the Ceremony and Reception that was catered by Costa Vida!  After lunch, we grabbed some shots of the family, bridal party and bride and groom.  Then it was party time!  Their reception was a blast with SO many details!!  Their gorgeous cake was by Granite Bakery and flowers by The Flower Patch.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!

Kristen and Travis Engagements #2 | Utah Wedding Photographers

We did a reshoot of these two because it was raining at their first session.  This time they chose Wheeler Farm and it is honestly one of my favorite places to shoot!  It is easy to get to, always open and the landscape there looks great year round.  In fact, we also did Kristen and Travis’ bridals at Wheeler Farm because they loved it so much!  I can’t wait to share those, but that’ll have to wait until after their wedding!  I absolutely love working with these two and even though Travis HATES pictures, I don’t think it was too painful for him 😉  At least I tried to make it fun!  haha!!

Taylor and Kory Bridals | Utah Wedding Photographers

I shot Taylor and Kory’s Bridals at the Utah State Capitol Building.  It is the perfect place for a bridal session when the weather outside is less than desirable or if you’re looking for somewhere elegant and classy!  Taylor wanted her bridal session with Kory so they decided to do a first look at the bridal session.  I love it when couples choose to do a first look and I love it even more when they want to do their bridal session together.  It takes so much pressure off of the wedding day because believe me, wedding days are always unpredictable and the timeline is always short so it’s nice to get the majority of the bride and groom pictures out of the way before the wedding day!  Then on the actual wedding day, you can relax and not be stressed if there isn’t enough time for pictures.  Of course, we will still do as many pictures on the wedding day as time will allow, but at least you have options this way.  Taylor looked stunning in her dress from Fantasy Bridal.  Kory got his suit from Tuxedos by Lee.  Both of them looked great and I loved working with them!!

Mazie and Scott Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographers

Meet Mazie and Scott!  These two were an absolute joy to work with!  We did their engagements during my busiest time of the year for family and mini sessions and they were willing to drive from Provo to Farmington for their session last minute so I could fit them in!  I so appreciate that! They were so easy going and fun to work with.  I just think the world of these two!

Here is their love story!

  1. We met January 2016, my first semester at BYU after my mission, in the same ward. Scott was assigned to be my home teacher and we became good friends.
  2. In February Scott called and asked me on a group date to go see Divine Comedy at BYU. Afterwards we went back to our apartment complex and played ping-pong together (Scott beat me). Then I gave him a spontaneous singing lesson!
  3. For our second date we went on a tandem bike ride to Utah Lake and on the way back we stopped at a swing that is next to Provo River. The day of the proposal we went on another bike ride down the same path. On the way back from Utah Lake we stopped at the same swing and our family had set up a fancy lunch on the picnic table. Our little siblings were dressed up and gave us our menus. Behind my menu was a letter Scott had typed up. As I read it, his sisters brought out two dozen red roses and the ring box. Scott then proposed and I said YES! Then we enjoyed our delicious lunch. It was perfect and he totally surprised me!
  4. We both agree that our relationship was very serendipitous! I had just gotten home from my mission in November and neither of us were looking for a relationship. I felt drawn to move to the apartment complex where we lived. And we both felt drawn to each other. The end of March we began exclusively dating, after we had already made a habit of seeing each other everyday 🙂
  5. Homework. Just kidding, although it has taken up a large part of our time together. We like hiking, going on walks, talking, making and eating food, watching old tv shows, going on spontaneous adventures, and doing the simple and ordinary things of everyday life together.
  6. Yes, we both are attending BYU. I am studying Elementary Education and Scott is studying Exercise Science, for Physical Therapy.
  7. Scott works as an AV Install technician and helps install systems and fix problems in classrooms across campus. Mazie works as an operator for BYU, answering questions and transferring calls.
  8. I love looking into her eyes, I love seeing the amazing spirit that is in her, she has a wonderful countenance, she loves God, and she honors the covenants that she has made with Him. She is a nurturer, teacher, and friend. So basically I am just saying I love all of her.
  9. I love that Scott is spontaneous and makes life an adventure. He loves life and also knows how to work hard. I am always inspired by his perspective on life and I admire his desire to follow Jesus Christ. He turns outward and is constantly serving others. I am grateful for how thoughtful he is and always finds little ways to serve me. He is absolutely wonderful.

Elora and Jesse Bridals | Utah Wedding Photographers

Elora is such a trooper! She lives near Boise, Idaho and was down for the weekend visiting Jesse in Provo.  I had a crazy day of mini sessions and could only squeeze her in before and after some of my sessions.  She was more than willing to come and meet me in Bountiful to do some pictures of her alone.  Then she went back to Provo to pick up Jesse (he had work and couldn’t get off earlier) while I did some more sessions, then drove all the back to FARMINGTON to get some pictures of her and Jesse!  Then back to Provo for the night!  I LOVE my brides!  They are so awesome and always so willing to make it work!  Trust me, this kind of thing doesn’t happen regularly but I sure appreciate when people are flexible!

Elora came and met me first at Mueller Park for her portion of the bridals, then Farmington Trail later for some pictures of her and Jesse!  I love love love fall and these are the perfect locations for beautiful fall leaves!  Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Elora and Jesse Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographers

There is one thing I HATE about weddings and no it is not the bridezilla’s or the demanding schedule, it’s not working with amazing people like Elora and Jesse regularly anymore 🙁  I absolutely thought the world of these two and their love they had for each other was just awesome! They were the nicest people you’ll ever meet and I enjoyed every second with them!  I was lucky enough that they chose me to be their wedding photographer and hopefully (fingers crossed) they’ll call me again to do their maternity, newborns, family pictures etc.. in the future!!  In fact, I am DEMANDING that they do!

We shot their engagement session at Wheeler Farm!  I am sure I have mentioned this before but I love Wheeler Farm!  It a great place to shoot at anytime of year and there are so many different options and places to shoot that every session looks different!  And every time of year looks different too!

I am now booking for 2017 weddings and portrait sessions so contact me today to book yours! amanda@amandaabelphoto.com

Rachel and Taylor Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographers

I met Rachel a couple years ago and was THRILLED when she asked me to be her wedding photographer!  I mean, look at these two…..they are adorable! This cute couple met through a mutual friend.  They were both going to school at BYU but are originally from the San Diego area.  Right now, Taylor is at BYU Idaho while Rachel is living in Utah so they are having to deal with a long distance relationship as well as long distance wedding planning!  That would be so hard!  I can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding in MAY!!!  We shot their engagements at Wheeler Farm…you can never go wrong with Wheeler Farm! I LOVE shooting there!  No matter the time of year, it looks great and different.  And if you don’t want any of the rustic elements, you can just head to the back and get an outdoorsy/nature feel.  The day of their engagements it was super windy!  The weather is always so uncertain at this time of year and being an on-location photographer, it makes it kind of hard!  But we went for it anyways and I am glad we did 🙂

Morgan and Sage Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographers

I cannot believe Morgan is getting married!  I lived in the same neighborhood as her when she was in elementary school!  How crazy fast time flies!  I am so happy for her and Sage and even more happy they chose me to be their wedding photographer!  These two are so cute together and I can tell they are completely in love!!  Read below for their super cute love story in Morgan’s words!!

  1. We met on a blind date. My cousin set us up in February last year. It took us a few months to get together and plan a date but it was worth the wait. . (Sage wasn’t to excited about a blind date but he went anyways;)
  2. For our first date we doubled with my Cousin Jodi and her husband Garret. We went to dinner at Olive Garden, and then afterwards we went bowling. We spent a long time at Olive Garden because our waitress was as little new, but we got free desert out of it so it was okay with us.;) After bowling we went back to my cousins home, they had to leave and go pick up there little boy, but me and Sage stayed in there driveway and talked for a little while. He was esay to talk to, that’s what I liked about him the most.
  3. We love breakfast food so we went to breakfast at my favorite place Granny Annie’s, it was so yummy. I kind of knew that Sage was going to propose that day, keep in mind, so I was super excited. After breakfast we went up the canyon to a trail in Huntsville that we like to take walks on sometimes. It was so cold and wet that day so the trail was covered in snow but he was determined that we were going to make it up the hill. So we started up the trail and got about half way up and he wanted to turn back. I was so confused because I thought this was where he was going to propose at the end but he said we could turn around. On our way down the trail he put an umbrella in front of my face so I couldn’t what was in front of me and then once we were at the end of the trail he lifted up the umbrella and our parents were there with a big banner that said will you marry me with flowers and both of our parents waiting at the end. It was such a great day.
  4. After our first date I didn’t hear from sage for about a month. Other then me messaging him and thanking him for taking me on a date. But a couple weeks after our date he text me and asked how I was, and from then on we talked everyday. We were so comfortable around each other from the very beginning. That’s what I love the most is we can be ourselves with each other. I am so excited to be married to him and start our life together. We are so excited to start this journey and learn even more about each other. WE CAN’T WAIT.
  5. We like going for drives up the canyon, During the summer we really liked projecting movies in my backyard. and we love card games too. Both of us really enjoy being with our families so we spend a lot of with them. And we love to go scouting up the canyon too.
  6. Sage is going to school right now to become a welding engineer at Weber State.
I’m going into dental hygiene and eventually want to become a hygienist.
  7. Sage works at Speirs Pluming, He is an apprentice.
And I work at the Treehouse in Ogden, at the Guests Services manager.
  8. What I love most about her is hard to define most because I love everything about her, but the some things that come to mind are how much she loves her family and how much she cares for them and put not only her family first but just about everyone she knows she puts their needs first and tends to their needs. I’m so grateful that she is always happy all the time. Also I love that she works and is not a lazy person. She always makes me laugh and definitely shows her love to me and I like that she treats me like a king. She is strong in the Gospel and has a strong testimony. I really do love everything she does!! I’m so lucky to have her in my life.
  9. I love Sages personality, he is so out going in everything he does. I love how determined he is with anything he does. Sage is great with people, when we meet anyone I feel like people are just drawn to him and want to be around him. He is so goofy and fun. HIs Personality is HUGE and so funny. I love how he puts his family first and he is a great leader in the gospel I’ve always felt so connected to him from the very beginning. I love how passionate he is.

Kristen and Travis Engagements | Utah Wedding Photographers

Kristen and Travis are getting married in May and I couldn’t be happier to be their wedding photographer!  I shot her sister Michelle’s wedding several years ago and absolutely adore their cute family!  How lucky am I to get to photograph not one but TWO gorgeous sisters!  Yeah, the luckiest I know 🙂  On the day we had scheduled to do Kristen and Travis’ engagements of course it was raining!  But not until they had driven all the way down from Logan to Snowbasin.  I told her let’s just get a shot for your invite and we can get together and do another session when the weather is better.  Well I’d say we got a few more than just a shot for the invite 🙂  But we are still going to do another session, because I mean come on, why would I pass up that opportunity?!?!

Here is a little bit about this cute couple!

-How and when did you meet? We met at Utah State living in the same apartment complex in 2015.

-Where was your first date? Our first date was at his apartment and we made gingerbread houses.

-How did he/she propose? He took me up to the mountains and gave me a letter about everything he loved about me and our future together then asked me to marry him!

-Tell me about your love story? It was actually a miracle that we ended up together because we are so different! He is a small town boy from Lyman, Wyoming and I’m a city girl from American Fork. He asked me out right before I moved to Provo from Logan to student teach. We dated long distance for that whole semester and he convinced me to move back up to Logan to teach while he finished his MBA. I was head over heels so obviously I moved back! I’m so glad I did because now we are madly in love and love spending all of our free time together!

-What are your favorite things to do together? We love playing racquetball, playing games, being in the mountains, visiting family, trying out each others hobbies like going to plays for me and fishing and four wheeling for him!

-Do either of you attend school?  Travis is finishing up his MBA at Utah State in May and I graduated last year from Utah State in Elementary Education.

-What kind of job do you both have? I teach second grade in Logan and Travis is just going to school right now.

GROOM: What do you love most about her? Her positive attitude and good looks.

BRIDE: What do you love most about him?  I love that he is such a hard worker and always knows how to make me laugh and feel loved. He is also the kindest person in the world and always willing to help anyone!

Sara and Matt’s Bridals | Utah Wedding Photographers

Us Utah Wedding Photographers  dream about couples like this!  Sara and Matt had everything going for them!  I mean look at that dress!  It is from Bridal Brilliance Rentals and if you are looking for a dress but don’t want to buy, I highly recommend them!  I have never seen a dress of theirs I didn’t love.  And that bouquet from Hillside Floral is just stunning!    We shot their bridal session at the Utah State Capitol.  Doing a Utah State Captiol bridal session is a great idea if you are looking for an indoor location.  They don’t charge a fee to shoot there and you can go anytime, however I highly recommend calling beforehand to make sure there isn’t a big event going on which can make it really hard to shoot in the good spots 🙂  Sara had their videographer, Brad with Forevermore Films,  there too which made for some awesome shots and a great time!  Sara and Matt, thank you so much for choosing me as your Utah wedding photographer!
